Email Selbstverteidigung - oder - Emails abhörsicher verschlüsseln

Angesichts der ausufernden Überwachung durch unsere Volksvertreter und deren Schergen, läßt es sich langsam nicht mehr abstreiten: alle unsere Emails werden von Dritten gelesen! Selbst meine Hosting-Anbieter für diese Seite, müssen meine Emailkonten offenlegen, wenn die NSA Polizei das verlangt.

Die einzige Antwort, die es darauf geben kann lautet: Verschlüsselung.

Mit GnuPG können Dateien und Emails verschlüsselt werden. Allerdings eigentlich nur im Terminal, mit ein paar Befehlen. Das ist etwas umständlich, wenn man jede Email verschlüsseln oder signieren will. Dafür gibt es verschiedene Addons oder PlugIns für die verschiedenen Mail-Clienten. Das bekannteste dürfte wohl Enigmail für Thunderbird sein.
Die Free Software Foundation hat eine Anleitung zur Email-Selbstverteidigung veröffentlicht. Da kann man sehr einfach, in ein paar Schritten, lernen, wie das so funktioniert. Wenn man sich durch die Anleitung durchgearbeitet hat, sollte man mit ein paar Klicks in der Lage sein, seine Emails zu signieren und/oder zu verschlüsseln.
